Patient's Responsibilities

All patients have certain rights when seeking medical treatment. However, patients also have certain responsibilities that should be observed to assist those who are caring for them. You are responsible:

  1. To provide, to the best of your knowledge, accurate and complete information about all matters relating to your health.
  2. Report whether you do not have a clear understanding of any treatment being provided to you or what is expected of you.
  3. To follow the treatment plan recommended by your practitioner, including following instructions of nurses and allied health personnel as they carry out the coordinated plan of care.
  4. For your actions if you refuse treatment or do not follow the practitioner's instruction.
  5. For being considerate of other patients and care facility personnel.
  6. For the control of noise.
  7. To behave in accordance with the hospital's smoking policy.
  8. To ensure the number of visitors received is not excessive.
  9. To be respectful of other's property and privacy
