Almost every day we receive warm wonderful letters of thanks from former patients, their families and friends telling us about their recovery and being able to return to their home confident in being able to care for themselves. Over the years the level of patient satisfaction has remained high. In a recent survey* which followed up discharged patients, 97.5% indicated they were satisfied with the care and education provided at Alwyn. All were coping well at home and the majority returned to their previous level of management.

In this survey, 92% of patients who underwent rehabilitation at Alwyn Rehabilitation Hospital were discharged to home. Only 1% were discharged to aged care facilities. Follow-up surveys of patients 90 days post-discharge, during 2002-3, indicated that 100% of Alwyn's patients were still able to care for themselves.
